Day 43 - Back to Norseman

Rog has riden on this morning headed for Eucla. Bike and I are headed for Esperance with Saturday and Sunday nights in Norseman then Monday down to Esperance and into bike shop on Tuesday as Monday is a public holiday in WA.
While waiting for the pick-up a couple of riders called through and said that they'd passed Rog and he was making good time.
I checked out the local Nullarbor golf hole - Skylab, a little par 3, 175m.

Also checked out the state of the local water supply. Not good.

This is the longest day of the trip so far.

I spent most of the day sitting on the deck  outside the Roadhouse.

About 2pm the Grey Nomads began to roll up from both directions. First the big rigs, followed by smaller vans and finally the back packers in their Britz and Apollo campers. Clearly there's a pecking order here. I'm sure David Attenborough would have something to say about this GN activity. I've noticed during our trip that they begin to cluster just after lunch and are fed, watered and tucked up in bed by 8:30pm. The GNs from the bigger rigs are clearly the "cock of the walk" and freely dispense advise and direction to the smaller GNs. The poor petrol towing GNs are shunned and sent to spend the night in the corners of the park.

Steve the towee turned up around 3:00pm with a car on board from Cocklebiddy. A cab full of Irish /UK survivors heading off to Margaret River to work at pruning.

We arrived in Norseman just before 6:30pm without any road kill. Excellent!

Unloaded the bike in front of the motel room. I can't praise enough the fantastic response from Shellie of the NRMA Premium service team. And Our towee Steve was also exceptional. I look forward to our run to Esperance on Monday.

Where's Rog?

Hopefully he's made it to Eucla. As he only has an Optus sim, there's no service there.
